Normally I don't feature just one person's artwork in the group's journal, believing that everyone who submits artwork to this group has their own strengths and weaknesses, but since this artist isn't on DA and their artwork is pretty hard to find unless if you're willing to explore European Bravestarr websites, I felt like making an exception.
Back in 2007, Alexander von Wieding, a German freelance illustrator, drew some concept art of his own interpretation of how a live-action Bravestarr movie would look, including listing potential actors for each role. He did a more realistic approach, and his interpretations are well worth a look.

And, if you feel like exploring their entire website and looking at their other artwork, here's a link to their page.
Just felt like sharing and giving a good artist a shout-out.

In other, group-related news, I'm trying to, on a regular basis, make little journals that feature parts of the Bravestarr franchise, be it the books or some of the things in the series bibles and whatnot. It's a small, quiet group, so I don't really see the need for contests, but it'd still be kind of fun to, every so often, post scans from the picture books or point out some things from the actual series. It would probably be bi-monthly. Just a fun little thing to look forward to.

Happy New Year/New Rule!
Hello! A new year has dawned, and while this will be the year that Bravestarr turns 27 and this group turns 2, there will always be dedicated fans of this show that will always remember this often forgotten piece of Filmation and animation history. Even if we aren't the most active club on DA, the amount of passion and creativity I see in our submissions is enough to put a smile on my face.
I apologize for the lack of updates, but at the same time, with the amount of members we have and the amount of submissions we get, it wouldn't feel right to do anything like hosting a contest when it'd end up with just a couple submissions and the only v
Coming Soon - Tex's Terrible Night boards/New Icon
UPDATE: I also changed the icon of the club. The old one was starting to show its age.
Hello again! It's been a while since I last posted some news in this group, and I realize the last time I did an update that I was going to post more storyboards of The Haunted Shield. Which obviously hasn't happened. Unfortunately, real life things like college graduation, BFA art show prep, and other things got in the way and I couldn't post them all in a week like I wanted to.
But this journal isn't about excuses. This journal is about Tex Hex. I thought I'd bring some great news, especially for the Tex Hex fans.
I now own the original script, the rev
The Haunted Shield Storyboards
A while back, I had managed to acquire the original storyboards of "The Haunted Shield". Gradually, over the course of a week or so, I'm going to be posting up all of the storyboards on a blog, available for viewing for everyone. It's worth it just to see the original pen drawings and what got cut out of this particular episode. Consider it sort of a very belated Christmas gift for the Bravestarr fans. ;)
You can find the storyboards right here.
I'll keep you guys updated as I add more storyboards. There's quite a lot of them and scanning all of them takes time.
Note: I only have this episode's storyboards for now. I'll let you know if I f
Italian Bravestarr Comics
Despite the fact that Bravestarr only lasted one season and wasn't all that popular, the show did have a considerable amount of merchandise and side-stories in the form of comics and children's books and the like.
However, while the United States just got the Bravestarr In 3D 2-issue miniseries published by Blackthorne, the folks at Fort Kerium were a lot more generous to the people in Europe. The lovely folks at He-Man.org were nice enough to collect scans of the Mondadori published Masters of the Universe magazine, which contained Bravestarr comics aplenty.
Over ten little Bravestarr comics can be found here: http://www.he-man.org/publish
